Perfect Love: The Remedy is Perfect Love
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. 5 Love is not rude, it is not selfish, and it cannot be made angry easily. Love does not remember wrongs done against it. 6 Love is never happy when others do wrong, but it is always happy with the truth. 7 Love never gives up on people. It never stops trusting, never loses hope, and never quits. 8 Love will never end. But all those gifts will come to an end—even the gift of prophecy, the gift of speaking in different kinds of languages, and the gift of knowledge.
1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
The Remedy
The Meriam Webster dictionary defines the word “Remedy” as 1 : a medicine, application, or treatment that relieves or cures a disease. 2 : something that corrects or counteracts. 3 : the legal means to recover a right or to prevent or obtain redress for a wrong. Recently, I have been encountering a series of challenging events that could only be remedied by reflecting and meditating on God’s character and nature. Since the second half of 1 John 4:8 says that “God is love”, I began to meditate on the Perfect Love of God as inspired and defined by scripture. Reflection has challenged me to live this truth. I hope that you will be inspired to focus on how to live out God’s perfect love in your daily thoughts, feelings, and actions.

Prayer and Declarations
Below is the EASY version of 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 that can be easily used as a prayer or faith declarations.
4 If I love people, I will be patient. I will be kind. I will not be jealous of other people. I will not be proud and say that I am great. 5 If I love people, I will be polite. I will not just want to please myself. I will not quickly become angry. If someone does a wrong thing against me, I will not keep it in my thoughts. 6 If I love people, I will not be happy when bad things happen. Instead, I will be happy when things happen that are right and true. 7 If I love people, I will always accept their problems. I will always believe them. I will always hope for what is best. I will always be patient in troubles.
With Love,
Riva
